San Diego, CA
I joined my other half and colleagues on a trip to San Diego. We took an Alaska red eye flight from OGG – SAN, round trip on the 27th. We arrived, picked up the Avis rental, did some essential shopping, checked in to the hotel (they allowed it), left the luggage at the lobby and headed to town. Needless to say the Dodgers came and conquered but the weather was a comfortable 72 degrees and sunny. People were everywhere, everyone looked happy, and it was a great first day. The city reminded me of Denver. Probably because when we were there in the summer of 2022, we caught a game at Coors field. The Rockies were playing and I forget who it was. The similarities down to the weather was surprising.
Just about a year ago, we went on a trip to LAX. I still have to post about that. It was an amazing trip which also included a Dodger’s home game against the Brewers. The Dodgers surprisingly lost. Interestingly, the weather was similar; sunny yet a cool upper 60s low 70s.
Historically, we would typically travel to the East Coast (New York, Florida) and Las Vegas. I used to travel to California in my late teens early twenties (Los Angeles, Palms Springs, San Francisco, Yucaipa). I’ve missed California. I feel like it’s very familiar to me but there is so much I haven’t seen yet.
